Couple Plans Downtown Buildings Redevelopment

Josh and Lori Evarts won permission from the Meridian (Idaho) Development Corp. to replace properties at 703 and 713 N. Main St. The properties, which are currently occupied by a children’s theater and a meeting and creativity center run by the Meridian Library District, will be redeveloped into retail, commercial and residential space.

The build-out will take place in two phases, with the first phase involving replacement of the theater with a four-story, $1.7 million building with 3,800 square feet of ground-floor retail and a mix of office space and residential lofts on the upper floors. Plans for the second phase have not yet been released. Work could begin as early as June 2017.

Those worried about the children’s theater can take heart in that the theater has outgrown the space, and is looking for a larger building.
