Council Approves TIRZ Rebate for 621 S. Polk

The Amarillo (TX) City Council has approved a 90% Tax increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) rebate for Dubs Development LLC. The rebate will be used to help deal with unexpected costs that cropped up during construction at 621 S. Polk St. Specifically, the developers discovered a burned opera house beneath the surface.

The deal authorizes up to $25,000 a year, over a 10-year period, to be reimbursed to the development company, Tol and William Ware of Amarillo National Bank. “We didn’t anticipate applying for this program during construction until recently,” Tol Ware told the Amarillo Globe-News.

When the project is completed, it will house the Crush Wine Bar & Deli, and Six Car Pub & Brewery.
