Could Braum’s Be Coming to Longview?

Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy Stores are located throughout East Texas; specifically, in Athens, Mount Pleasant and Tyler. And, if the Oklahoma-based company has its way, it’ll open an ice cream and dairy store in Longview in the foreseeable future.

The Longview Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended rezoning approximately 0.18 acres at Marshall Avenue and Seventh Street to general retail. The property slice is currently zoned for single family, and the city council must approve the P&Z’s rezoning recommendation. The recommendation also requested a special-use permit for a drive-through window.

Retail Buildings Inc., a construction company affiliated with Braum’s, filed the construction application with the city. The restaurant and store would be approximately 6,250 square feet. A construction timetable and opening date have not yet been determined.
