Cottages Workforce Housing Gets Backing from Lake Elsinore
The Cottages at Mission Trail, a new multifamily workforce housing development in Lake Elsinore, is now complete. The project was planned and developed with the support of the city of Lake Elsinore, according to Bob Magee, Lake Elsinore mayor.
“With strict mandates coming down from the state, the city is committed to offering housing for all in our community,” says Magee.
The community features 143 two- and three-bedroom rental apartment homes across 78 buildings on a 20-acre site that is anchored by a recreation center. The Cottages is part of a larger 3,000-acre Lake Elsinore development known as Summerly that includes a golf course, single-family residential community and retail center.
The project was led by Civic Partners Inc. with the support of the city of Lake Elsinore. PREMIER Design + Build Group took the lead on construction.
“This is workforce housing, but we wanted to create something with the feel of a single-family residential community,” says Jeff Pomeroy, project executive at Civic Partners Inc. “PREMIER collaborated with us, bringing many smart ideas for maximizing our budget and still delivering a very high-quality product.”
Despite several pandemic-related procurement delays, Steven Gabbert and Derrick Schuster led PREMIER’s team, which was able to complete the 143 homes. Other project partners included KTGY Group Inc. for architectural services and ima for landscape architectural services. Gouvis Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural engineering services. Wilson-Mikami managed civil engineering.
