Costco’s 38th Texas Store to Open in Prosper

Dallas’s most northern suburb has landed a Costco. Costco Wholesale Club is hoping to capitalize on Prosper, Texas’s rapid growth. The town tripled in size between 2010 and 2020 and now has over 30,000 residents.

The 160,000-square-foot store will be on the northeast corner of West University Drive and FM1385. The Prosper warehouse club and fuel pumps will cost more than $20 million to build. Construction is expected to start in March 2024, and the store could be completed by late October.

Costco is building 24 warehouse clubs, including 14 in the U.S., during its fiscal year that ends in August. One of the U.S. locations is in Kyle, south of Austin, just opened its doors.
