Core Spaces to Replace Midtown Strip Club with College Housing

Core Spaces is seeking permission from the city of Atlanta to demolish the Cheetah Club and construct Georgia Tech student housing on the site. Core is coordinating its effort with Capstone Communities. The 27-story tower, to be called Hub Spring Street, will feature over 1,000 beds spread across 532 units, with approximately 6,500 square feet of retail space also planned. The breakdown of the units runs the gamut from studios to six-bedroom units.

Amenities include a pool on the 27th floor and a hot tub on the 26th floor.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports this proposal will be a yearslong project. The northwest portion of the site, located at the intersection of Spring Street and 8th Street, will be reserved for a future phase, to be determined at a later date, according to the permit application.

The developers are not required to build any parking due to the site’s proximity to the Midtown MARTA station.
