Copland House Selects Caples Jefferson Architects for Satellite Venue
Copland House, the award-winning creative center for American music and the arts based at composer Aaron Copland’s National Historic Landmark home in New York’s Lower Hudson Valley, selected Caples Jefferson Architects to plan, design and develop Bluestone Farm, its recently purchased satellite venue in Putnam County, NY.
Formerly the Melrose School campus in the town of Southeast, NY, the 24-acre Bluestone Farm will enable Copland House to extend its artistic support, audience reach, public presentations and educational engagement. Copland House paid $3 million to acquire the property at 100 – 120 Federal Hill Rd. in a deal that closed this past January, brokered by Houlihan Lawrence Commercial.
“In a profoundly changed post-pandemic world, we, together with Caples Jefferson, will rethink what it means to be a creative center as we head towards the mid-21st-century – where the power of ideas, artistry, expressivity, communication and collaboration can bring people together,” said Copland House’s artistic and executive director, Michael Boriskin.
