Contour Sets Sights on Phoenix Industrial with Buckeye Buy
Contour recently acquired 54 acres in Buckeye located at the southeast corner of Southern Avenue and Rainbow Road. The property is adjacent to the Union Pacific Rail Line.
“We’ve had our eyes on the Phoenix industrial market for some time now,” said David Daneshforooz, chief executive officer of Contour. “This area is an extremely important market for Contour, one in which we project our investments will continue to grow over the next decade as overall economic expansion continues in the Phoenix metro area.”
The acquisition is a joint-venture partnership with Shopoff Realty Investments. Contour and Shopoff plan to develop the site for industrial use, with a current proposal consisting of two warehouse logistics-oriented buildings spread across approximately 900,000 square feet.
“The Phoenix West market is a prime location for industrial development, with convenient access to I-85 and I-10. The property is a one-day drive to the Port of Los Angeles,” says William Shopoff, Shopoff president and CEO. “With an influx of e-commerce and logistics firms moving into this area in recent years, the demand for industrial space continues to grow, and we believe we are well-positioned for a successful development.”
