Construction Underway on 186K-SF Retail

Construction is moving along on Gig Harbor, WA’s Olympic Towne Center, a 186,291-square-foot retail center anchored by a 65,000-square-foot Fred Meyer grocery store. WWR Properties in Tacoma, WA, is the developer. Other retail tenants that will take space in the center at include Wells Fargo Bank, Nail Station, Hop Jack’s Neighborhood Grill, T-Mobile, Auto Zone and PetSmart. Gig Harbor is northwest of Tacoma.

The project has been in the works for a decade; WWR first filed land-use permits in 2007-2008. Part of the process required mitigation requirements, such as a new street, which WWR built. In addition, the company is required to build a right-turn pocket at the intersection of Point Fosdick Drive and Olympic Drive, which is becoming more congested.
