Construction Underway — Finally — at Grove at Shoal Creek
Years after plans for Grove at Shoal Creek in Austin were unveiled, developer MileStone Community Builders launched construction on the mixed-use development’s housing phase. Home designs include single family, townhomes and condos.
Development is also underway on the Grove’s commercial district, which will include 185,000 square feet of office space, up to 140,000 square feet of retail space and more than 1,000 apartment units. Balfour Beatty was selected as the general contractor of the mixed-use portion’s first commercial block.
The Grove, at 45th and Bull Creek in Central Austin, traveled a long path from the idea phase to groundbreaking. Alan Topfer, which co-owns the Grove’s mixed-use portion, said the project was designed to be a gathering place for Austin residents. “After more than four years of planning, pursuing entitlements and a great deal of hard work, we are excited and proud to see The Grove finally becoming a reality,” he said.
