Construction to Begin on Apartment Redevelopment in Old Town Alexandria

Construction is set to begin at The Heritage at Old Town development at 505 S. Alfred St. in Virginia.

The development, known as Block 4, will include 310 apartment homes and more than 14,000 square feet of amenity space. Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners (JLREP) purchased the fully entitled development plans for The Heritage at Old Town in December 2021.

The previously delayed project will ultimately include up to 750 new apartments in Old Town Alexandria. The project will comprise three new multifamily buildings across about two and a half city blocks, reported the Washington Business Journal.

The 598 new apartments in the first and second phases will replace older garden apartments, which have already been demolished. Asland Capital Partners LLC got the site approved for redevelopment and, immediately after, sold the properties to Jair Lynch.
