Construction Logistics Firm Nets Funding, Changes Name

Construction logistics firm FlexFleet Inc. announced it would change its name to Trelar Logistics Inc. after raising $2.1 million in seed funding from Foundamental Capital.

A news release from the Austin-based company stated that it would use the new funds to speed up its product development and hire more people. To that end, the company announced that 20-year industry veteran Ammad Jilani would become its chief technology officer, and former Assembla vice president of product Laith Dahiyat will take the role of chief product officer.

Former Hy9 CEO Gary Clarke founded Trelar in October 2018 to try to improve productivity, efficiency and performance in construction logistics.

“Most of the construction marketplace still relies on old technologies and inefficient workflows, while being hyper-local, highly fragmented, opaque and tightly interdependent,” Clarke told the Austin American-Statesman. “Our platform integrates suppliers, contractors, supply chain logistics and services like finance and insurance to revolutionize the way construction moves.”
