Construction Launches on 153-Unit WaterWalk

Construction has launched on the 153-unit WaterWalk Las Colinas, a 153-unit hotel-apartment hybrid developed by entrepreneur Jack DeBoer. The development at 1701 W. Royal Lane is the second WaterWalk hotel in Texas; the other is in San Antonio. The property is a franchise owned by Allan Dunne with Dunne Investments, and Dunne Property Co. of Wichita, KS. Dunne has committed to developing 10-15 additional WaterWalk franchises over the next few years.
WaterWalk Hotel Apartments was created similar to a hotel and corporate lodging concept that is well-known in Europe. The model combines added space typically found in apartment units, with services and amenities found among hotels. Founder DeBoer also founded Residence Inn, Summerfield Suites, Candlewood Suites and Value Place/Woodspring.
Law Company is the general contractor, and LK Architecture the architect. Both companies are Wichita based.
