Hines Launches Construction on 360-Key Luxury Hotel
Hines and partner Qatari Diar have launched construction on Conrad Washington DC, a 360-room luxury hotel with 30,000 square feet of retail space. The project, which will be managed by Conrad Hotels & Resorts, is at the 10-acre, mixed-use CityCenterDC. Initial occupancy for the hotel is anticipated for the first quarter of 2019.
The Conrad Washington DC is the seventh building developed by Hines and Qatari Diar at CityCenterDC. CityCenterDC is a 2.5-million-square-foot project bounded by New York Avenue NW; 9th Street NW; H Street NW and 11th Street NW.
The initial phase of CityCenterDC is comprised of 191,000 square feet of retail, 216 for-sale residential units, 458 apartment units, 522,000 square feet of office space, and public open space that was first occupied in December 2013.
