Construction to Launch on 1141 Shady Lane in East Austin’s QOZ

Saxum Real Estate and PlaceMKR will break ground on 1141 Shady Lane, a 64,000-square-foot creative office development on Austin’s east side. The project represents Austin’s first ground-up Qualified Opportunity Zone (QOZ) development; construction will begin in July 2019. NKF, led by Jesse Weber and Joshua LaFico, has been named the exclusive leasing agent on the project.

Upon completion, the project will offer 62,000 square feet of creative office space, 2,000 square feet of adjacent restaurant/retail space and approximately 9,000 square feet of outdoor courtyard space. The development is part of East Austin’s thinkEAST master-planned development, which focuses on live/work space, flexible studio space and a substantial residential component. 1141 Shady Lane will be adjacent to planned multifamily projects including ALTA Trailhead and the Studio at thinkEAST.
