Construction Giant Suffolk Opens First DC Office

Boston-based construction giant Suffolk has opened its first office in the Washington, D.C., region to tap into the area’s growing data center market. Located on Dulles Station Boulevard in Herndon, Virginia, the office is led by Charles McCarthy, Suffolk’s general manager of Mission Critical.

Suffolk has delivered over 50 data center campuses across 30 states and currently has seven active projects in the region, with more in pre-construction. The Herndon office will focus on mission-critical sectors, federal government projects, and gaming, as Virginia expands its casino locations.

“Suffolk is recognized for its wealth of experience managing complicated, sophisticated data center and government projects nationwide, and Virginia is an important hub for that development activity,” said McCarthy in a statement.
