Construction Firm Turns to Development for Its Own HQ
One of Chicago’s leading construction firms is turning to development for the first time—on its own headquarters. Summit Design Build plans to break ground on a 29,000-square-foot office property in the Fulton Market district, across the street from Google’s Midwest headquarters.
Summit would then move into the new location, next door to its current offices at 1032 W. Fulton St., and seek out tenants to fill the property’s remaining space. SVN Commercial Chicago’s Chad Schroedl, Scott Maesel and Drew Dillon have been tapped to lease up the new property, Crain’s Chicago Business reported.
“Being able to build a ground-up building in the West Loop is big,” Summit president Adam Miller told Crain’s. “We’re just so lucky that the neighborhood has gotten to this point.”
