Construction Commences on Concho Commons

Casey Development Ltd. of San Antonio began work on Concho Commons, a 13-story, mixed-use development between North LBJ Drive and North Guadalupe Street in San Marcos, TX. The project is going north on 1.5 acres, and will offer retail space, offices and 585 beds to serve students attending nearby Texas State University.

When the project is completed in 2020, it will be one of the tallest buildings in San Marcos.

Concho Commons was first proposed in 2008 as a three-story building. At the time, much of San Marcos’ development was taking place along the Interstate 35 corridor, as opposed to the CBD. However, more activity is taking place in downtown San Marcos, which is one reason why the mixed-use project increased by 10 stories.
