Construction Begins on Pittsburgh’s Glasshouse MF
High Street Residential, a subsidiary of Trammell Crow Company, and Northwestern Mutual commenced construction on Glasshouse, a five-story, Class A residential mixed-use building featuring 319 apartments in Pittsburgh’s former historic and prolific glassmaking district. The site is positioned on the bank of the Monongahela River, overlooking Pittsburgh’s “Golden Triangle” Central Business District.
The property will include studio, one, one+den and two-bedroom units, as well as ground floor restaurant retail space and 335 indoor parking spaces. Indoor project amenities include a resort-style club room, game room, e-lounge, entertainment kitchen, fitness center, yoga room, as well as a conference center, all overlooking three large outdoor courtyards.
Glasshouse will be ready for occupancy in summer 2019. The project is directly adjacent to the Station Square mixed-use development, a $100-million historic conversion of railroad warehouses, passenger terminals and office buildings into a mixed-use complex.
