Construction Begins on 332K-SF River East
Criterion Property Co. LP broke ground on River East, a 322,019-square-foot, mixed-use project at 2900 Race St. in Fort Worth. The components of the development will include residential, retail and office.
In addition, Criterion is working with the city of Fort Worth on Race Street improvements to make it more pedestrian friendly. A public paseo will link Race Street to a redesigned Plumwood Street and future development on Belknap Street.
River East’s 181-unit residential component will offer units ranging from 600 to 1,331 square feet; most of the units will have fenced yards. Also available will be 13,500 square feet of live/work spaces for small businesses or artists, a 2,200-square-foot space that could host a fitness center, 3,000 square feet of retail space and a 4,400-square-foot co-working space.
Civitas Capital Group is the investor, and Dallas-based PlainsCapital Bank is providing the senior financing for the project.
