Construction Begins on 20-Story Office Tower in Downtown Tampa

Strategic Property Partners started construction on 1001 Water Street, downtown Tampa’s first new trophy office tower to break ground in nearly three decades. The tower is part of the 56-acre Water Street Tampa development located on the urban waterfront. Coastal Construction is building the tower.

The 20-story, 380,000-square-foot tower will include office as well as retail space, and was designed by COOKFOX Architects. The building is expected to be both WELL Core and Shell certified, as well as LEED certified. Features of the building include an expansive rooftop terrace, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The tower is slated to be completed in late summer 2021. JLL has been tapped to handle leasing at the property.

Water Street Tampa is a multi-phased, mixed-use community that, upon completion, will include more than nine million square feet of commercial, residential, hospitality, educational, entertainment, cultural and retail space.
