Construction Begins on 456 Greenwich St.
Developers broke ground on the construction of a new eight-story, 94,000-square-foot, luxury hotel at 456 Greenwich St. in Manhattan’s TriBeCa neighborhood.
“Combining its historic roots with an extraordinary influx of development and investment, Tribeca continues to be one of the most charming and sought-after neighborhoods in the entire city,” said Joshua Caspi, principal of Caspi Development, which partnered with Mactaggart Family & Partners LP and Barone Management to develop the 96-key hotel. The owners have signed an agreement with an “international hotel operator,” which will be announced in 2018.
When it opens in 2020, the hotel will run the length of Desbrosses Street, between Greenwich and Washington Streets, one block east of the Hudson River. The hotel will also include six full-service food and beverage venues, a 1,500-square-foot interior courtyard, a spa, meeting space and the largest screening room in Lower Manhattan.
