Compass Lists $43M Japanese-Style Marin Estate
Quail Hill Estate, a sprawling Japanese-style midcentury mansion on 20-acres near Mount Tamalpais, has come to market for the first time in its history for $43 million. Neil Ward of Compass has the listing.
The estate features eight bedrooms, eight and one-half bathrooms, and more than 11,565 square feet. The property’s floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of sweeping mountain vistas and the home’s traditional Japanese center courtyard gardens, which were designed by Nagao Sakuri, the noted landscape architect who designed the Zen Garden in the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park.
Designed by architect Mitsuru Tada, the home rests on what is known as Quail Hill in the community of Ross, and offers a unique opportunity to acquire one of the largest and most private properties in Marin.
