Community Roots Housing, Kids Co. Launch Buildout of Learning Center at Seattle Housing Development 

Community Roots Housing and Kids Co. have begun construction on a new early learning center at CopperLeaf Northgate, one of Seattle’s newest affordable housing communities.

The new 7,761-square-foot center and outdoor play area will transform the ground-floor space at CopperLeaf into a purpose-built early learning environment. The project also represents a historic milestone for Kids Co., marking its first standalone early learning center outside a Seattle Public Schools building. Construction is now underway, led by Walsh Construction as general contractor and CAST Architecture for architecture and interior design.

Located adjacent to Northgate Station, the child care center builds on the vision behind the apartment building, which opened earlier this year and is now fully leased. As a transit-oriented affordable housing community, CopperLeaf is intentionally designed to connect residents with services and amenities.
