Commerz Real Taps Transwestern to Lease Up Central Loop Landmark

Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) was selected by Commerz Real, asset manager of German Commerzbank, to provide exclusive leasing services for  The National – 125 S. Clark, a 20-story, 582,400-square-foot office building in Chicago’s Central Loop submarket. EVP Eric Myers and SVPs Jeff Dowdell and Kathleen Bertrand will provide leasing services on behalf of the owner.

“We are thrilled to partner with Commerz Real as The National welcomes current and new tenants back to the office in 2021,” said Myers. “This historical landmark offers tenants a complete amenity package as well as two new, furnished suites that are immediately available.”

Built in 1907, The National is a designated Chicago Landmark designed by Daniel Burnham. A 2015 renovation added a fitness center along with the 24,000-sqiare-foot Revival Food Hall. Currently The National is 92% leased with brand new spec suites available on the second and 10th floors.
