The landmarked Flatiron Building in Manhattan has sold at auction to a surprise bidder from Virginia after its owners reached an impasse over a dispute

Commercial Townhouse Comes to Market in Flatiron District

Cushman & Wakefield has been retained to market 25 E. 22nd St., a 20,155-square-foot commercial townhouse, for sale. The asking price is $29,000,000.

Cushman & Wakefield’s John Ciraulo, Craig Waggner, Mike Kavanagh and Jack Stephen, in coordination with Carri Lyon and Mark Mandell, will be leading marketing efforts on behalf of the owner, Foundation for a Just Society.

The building is currently occupied by three tenants: Foundation for a Just Society, Felicity House and ACJC Foundation. All three entities were founded by philanthropist Audrey Cappell. The organizations have each outgrown the current space and will take up residence in a nearby property.

Located in the Flatiron District, the prewar property was completely reconstructed in 2016, “making the building perfect for a wide array of uses including office, corporate headquarters, nonprofit, foundations, retail showroom, gallery or any private user looking towards their own identity,” said Waggner.
