Coming to Your Local 7-Eleven: Wind-Powered Slurpees

7-Eleven Inc., headquartered in Irving, TX, signed an agreement with TXU Energy to purchase 100% wind energy for all Texas stores located in “competitive energy markets.” This translates to most of the stores throughout the Lone Star State.

The 96-month wind energy agreement, which launches June 1, 2018, will impact 425 stores. The company’s plan is to reduce its overall carbon footprint by 6.7% through use of wind energy, while also reducing operating costs. Plans also call for a 20% energy footprint reduction at its Irving store center by 2025.

Additionally, TXU Energy will provide energy efficiency rebate incentives through its TXU GreenBack program.
