Coming to Riverfront Boulevard: A Water Garden

A $50 million water garden project is being planned along Riverfront Boulevard near downtown Dallas. The development will consist of a linear park and water-quality improvements for old drainage channels that used to make up the path for the Trinity River.

The park will include wetland ponds to filter storm water moving through the area. Voters approved $7 million for the project in the November 2017 Dallas Bond Referendum. The rest of the money is anticipated to come from government grants, private donations and a developer that owns adjacent properties.

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NTCOG) hired an engineering company for $365,000 to create a preliminary design for the water garden.
