Comet Signs Triples Space, Signs 166K-SF Deal

Comet Signs effectively tripled its footprint by signing a 10-year lease to take down 166,000 square feet at 5003 Stout Dr. in San Antonio, which once housed Harland Clarke. The industrial sign-maker currently operates out of a 50,000-square-foot warehouse at 235 W. Turbo Dr. in the north central portion of the metro.

The landlord, HPI Real Estate Services & Investments, acquired the warehouse on San Antonio’s northeast side this past summer for an undisclosed amount. HPI was represented in-house by Jordan Walker. Dick McCaleb with RFM Commercial represented Comet Signs. The property had been vacant since check provider Harland Clarke shuttered fulfillment operations in 2015, cutting 107 jobs.

Comet Signs, which has been in business for 60 years, has six Texas locations.
