Comerica to Close 16 Michigan Branches
Comerica Inc. announced it would close 16 branches throughout Michigan over the next six months. The move is part of a major cost-cutting effort announced by Michigan’s second-largest bank last July. An estimated two-thirds of the workforce reduction will be completed by the end of this year.
The state’s branch closings will take place in three phases over the next several months, with existing customer bases consolidated into nearby Comerica facilities. Comerica is headquartered in Dallas, TX, with the Michigan Market headquartered in Detroit.
