Colovore Pursuing $430M Denton County Data Center

Colovore filed for a permit to build a data center in the Denton County portion of Fort Worth, a day after Governor Greg Abbott ordered a pause on issuing data center permits. Community Impact reports that the filing comes more than a month after the Fort Worth City Council began the process of implementing a 90-day moratorium on accepting, processing and approving new data center applications. So, it’s unclear how far the application will go.

The application pegs the cost of the project at $430 million.

The filing states that the one-story data center will have four data halls, a 42,000-square-foot screened equipment yard, and one 156,500-square-foot data center building with an administrative area. The estimated start date is Dec. 1 and the completion date is Dec. 1, 2028.

Colovore has data centers throughout the United States, including one in Austin. There are sites in Fort Worth and Mesquite that are under construction, and Johnson County has a future planned data center.
