Colliers: Demand Drives Puget Sound Industrial Rents to Record Levels

Colliers Secures Three Industrial Leases in West Virginia

Colliers has secured three industrial leases totaling more than 1 million square feet in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. A Colliers I-81 industrial team made up of John Lesinski, Ben Luke and Joy Lewis completed three separate transactions involving tenants The Clorox Co., Hollingsworth Logistics and a stone wool manufacturer.

The leases included a 10-year, 580,000-square-foot build-to-suit warehouse lease for tenant Clorox Co. in Martinsburg, WV. As well as a 314,000-square-foot seven-year lease renewal for transportation services company Hollingsworth Logistics Group in Martinsburg. In addition, Colliers secured a five-year, 138,000-square-foot lease with a stone wool manufacturer in Jefferson County.

“The industrial sector along the I-81 corridor that touches West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland has been growing rapidly and benefiting from strong market drivers and ease of access to nearly every major East Coast market,” said Lesinski. “The storyline that everyone is familiar with when it comes to industrial demand across the country is the rise of e-commerce, but Berkeley and Jefferson counties are also incredibly appealing for companies looking to set up manufacturing plants due to their deep labor pool of skilled workers. I’m proud of our team’s ability to complete a variety of transactions on both the tenant and landlord side to settle good companies in the area that in turn provide people with quality jobs.”
