Coke Bottler to Spend $42M on SA Expansion

Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages is planning to expand its bottling facility on San Antonio’s East Side. The firm is planning a 170,000-square-foot warehouse expansion that will cost $42 million. The new wing is expected to be complete by the end of this year.

Based in Dallas, Coca-Cola Southwest distributes Coca-Cola’s products in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arkansas and employs almost 800 people locally. The company has facilities throughout the state, namely in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston areas. Oklahoma and New Mexico also have locations.

Last year, the company announced a similar initiative for its Fort Worth plant. The company is investing about $168 million to expand its warehouse footprint to 400,000 square feet.

Chicago-based architecture firm Lamar Johnson Collaborative has been tapped as the designer for the San Antonio project.

Construction is slated to begin in March.
