CoinFlip Commitment at Old Post Office is Chicago’s Largest Cryptocurrency Lease to Date
CoinFlip said Tuesday it would move its headquarters to 601W Companies’ redeveloped Old Post Office. The 44,000-square-foot commitment more than doubles CoinFlip’s current space and reportedly is the largest cryptocurrency lease in Chicago history.
Since its founding, CoinFlip has expanded to more than 2,700 cryptocurrency ATMs across the country. At present it operates in 47 states.
“We’re committed to doing our part for the future of cryptocurrency as well as for the Chicago community – and that’s why we’re making long-term plans to grow our team here while investing in programs to help local communities benefit from the expansion of cryptocurrency technologies,” said CoinFlip CEO Ben Weiss.
CoinFlip is the latest fintech company to expand in Illinois, which is the home base for 58 different blockchain and cryptocurrency companies. At the Old Post Office, the CoinFlip lease follows last week’s announcement that Cisco would establish its Midwest hub there.
