Co-Living’s The Collective Hires U.S. Development Head

Global co-living company The Collective named Simon Koster as head of U.S. development, based in New York. In this newly created role, Koster will lead an interdisciplinary team of real estate development, architecture and financing professionals in delivering the company’s growing U.S. pipeline of co-living projects.

Koster joins The Collective after a decade at JDS Development Group, a real estate development, construction and acquisition firm known for its residential, hospitality and mixed-use projects in New York City and Miami. He oversaw the planning, design, coordination and construction management teams across all JDS projects.

Founded in 2010, The Collective has raised upwards of $1 billion, with 8,000 units operating or under development, and built a 300-person team headquartered across New York, London and Berlin.

Its first U.S. location, The Collective Paper Factory, opened in Long Island City, Queens this November. It also has properties in Brooklyn, Miami and Chicago under development.
