Closing Finalized on Riverview Towers, Dual-Branded Hotels Planned

Winston Hotels LLC closed on its acquisition of Riverview Towers, a former office building in downtown San Antonio, which was acquired from Primera Partners. With the asset firmly in hand, the new owner buyer is ready to revamp the holding into a 342-room, dual-branded hospitality property. The building will operate under the A.C. Hotel by Marriott and Element Hotel by Westin flags, both of which are debut brands to San Antonio.

Whit Jordan, with CBRE’s San Antonio office, represented Winston Hotels in this purchase. Bart Wilson, with Primera Partners, represented the seller. The 20-story Riverview Towers, at 111 Soledad St., was formerly a 298,000-square-foot office building. When it re-opens, the building will include 60,000 square feet of offices space and 3,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

“This property offered a unique opportunity for Winston Hotels to rebrand and reimagine an outdated office building in the prime downtown San Antonio submarket,” Jordan said.
