Clean Energy Fuels Extends Lease Term at MacArthur Court

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has extended the term on its 49,034-square-foot class-A office headquarters at MacArthur Court in Newport Beach. Clean Energy occupies two-and-a-half floors in the 15-story building at 4675 MacArthur Ct. The property is owned by the Irvine Company.

“Clean Energy has a mission of providing a product that allows our customers to achieve a cleaner environment for future generations,” said Barbara Johnson Bechthold, vice president, administration for Clean Energy. “Those same values are what we find in being headquartered at MacArthur Court, which provides us an environmentally friendly workspace with first-class office space and amenities.”

Rick Kaplan, Patrick Ryan and Chon Kantikovit with Cushman & Wakefield’s Irvine office represented the tenant in the transaction.

“This long-term renewal by Clean Energy marks a significant commitment by the company as well as significant transaction for our office market, particularly as we negotiated the lease while during the ongoing adversity of the pandemic,” said Ryan. “Our team was also able to secure a favorable rent structure, and paramount to the terms is that Clean Energy will have prominent building top signage on the 15-story highrise, providing exceptional visibility from major nearby roadways and highway traffic, as well as air traffic via John Wayne Airport.”

MacArthur Court provides access to the 405, 55, 73 and John Wayne Airport, with surrounding amenities including outdoor workspaces, a private fitness center and The Square’s retail/dining options.
