CKE Restaurants: Robots Only?
News recently surfaced that CKE Restaurants, parent company of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, is relocating its California headquarters to Nashville, Tenn. early next year. Once it does, the question is: will robots replace its workforce?
CKE’s CEO, Andy Pudzer, inspired by Eatsa, wants to try a restaurant without employees, utilizing robots instead. While some argue that using robots would be off-putting, Pudzer feels differently, saying, ““Millennials like not seeing people.”
Pudzer noted additional benefits including the fact that robots don’t take vacation or sue for discrimination, and if labor’s minimum wage increases while automation becomes less expensive, why wouldn’t he make that move?
