CityLine Sunnyvale Gets Go-Ahead on Former Macy’s Site
This week, the Sunnyvale Planning Commission approved plans for CityLine Sunnyvale to develop two office buildings with ground-level retail space on the former Macy’s parcel in downtown Sunnyvale. Located between Taaffe and Murphy avenues, the buildings will be separated by a public pedestrian plaza and offer approximately 250,000 square feet of office space, 25,000 square feet of ground-level retail and 13,000 square feet of outdoor space. An underground parking structure will offer 786 spaces, 6 percent of which will be wired or prewired for electric vehicles.
The two office buildings will be designed for post-COVID work environments, with access to fresh air and ample outdoor space. The buildings are targeting LEED Gold certification.
This approval comes on the heels of the January approval of an adjacent 12-story mixed-use project at 200 S. Taaffe St. that will include 479 homes, 30,000 square feet of retail and open space at Redwood Square. Both projects will be developed and constructed in tandem.
CityLine Sunnyvale is developed by STC Venture LLC, a joint venture between Sares Regis Group of Northern California and Hunter Properties.
Lisa Brown has decades of experience in corporate communications and marketing management with organizations including Coldwell Banker Residential, Grubb & Ellis, Marcus & Millichap, NAIOP, SIOR and ALM.
In those positions, she worked in conjunction with chief executive officers and chief marketing officers to create corporate messaging, cohesive branding standards, strategic marketing plans and thought pieces. Brown is a frequent speaker at industry events and an editing adjunct professor for an online course. She has a master’s degree in mass communications from San Jose State University.
