City, State Officials Cut Ribbon on 126-Unit Mixed-Income Rentals in Downtown Boston
Massachusetts Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll, Archbishop Richard G. Henning and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu joined with representatives of St. Francis House and the Archdiocese of Boston’s Planning Office for Urban Affairs to cut the ribbon on a 19-story residential tower with 126 mixed-income rental units at 41 LaGrange St. in Downtown Boston. Seventy of the units will be set aside as permanent supportive affordable housing.
“41 LaGrange St. represents the City of Boston’s continued commitment to expanding affordable housing opportunities for residents across every neighborhood,” said Sheila A. Dillon, Chief of Housing for the City of Boston. “By combining affordable housing with comprehensive supportive services, this development creates lasting stability for residents while helping us build a more equitable Boston where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.”
The project was made possible with funding from the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities; MassHousing Finance Agency; Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation; the City of Boston’s Mayor’s Office of Housing, and Neighborhood Housing Trust; Boston Housing Authority; Bank of America; and The Life Initiative.
