City Seeks Input on Casino Via Community Survey

Following the launch of a financial feasibility study for a proposed Chicago casino, the Lightfoot administration has posted an online survey to obtain community feedback on the project. The city plans to release the initial results of the survey in mid-August, although the survey will remain open through the fall.

“While the prospect of a new casino holds tremendous potential for generating new revenues and stimulating economic opportunity for Chicago, we are committed to a transparent process for ensuring all voices can be heard as the City moves forward on this historic project,” said Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

The release of the initial survey results will coincide with the Illinois Gaming Board’s release of its feasibility study. The study will determine the economics of what would be Chicago’s first-ever casino, but won’t decide the location. Lightfoot has submitted five possible sites for the casino, all on the West and South Sides.
