City Council Approves Zoning Changes for Commercial Redevelopment of LIC Office Building

The New York City Council has approved ULURP applications for Opus Point, a new 400,000 sq ft commercial office building in Long Island City.

Located at 23-10 Queens Plaza South, the former headquarters of the Eagle Electric Manufacturing Company will be repurposed and expanded to create a modern, flexible, and healthy workspace. Opus Point will prioritize the well-being of its tenants and offer a range of community and public amenities.

The building will feature floor plates designed to accommodate different tenant needs, operable windows, a fresh air-based ventilation system, landscaped rooftop gardens, indoor employee recreation spaces, bicycle parking, and cultural spaces for local arts organizations. Opus Point is expected to be completed in Q2 2025, and commercial space will be marketed by CBRE.
