City Council Approves Incentives for Cognizant’s New Office

The Plano City Council approved economic incentives for Cognizant Technology Solutions to open a new office near Legacy business park. The New Jersey-based IT services firm, which already has a large presence in Irving, TX, will open up shop at 8383 Dominion Pkwy., south of SH 121. The company is renting 69,000 square feet, which it plans to occupy by September 2019.

The Plano Economic Development Corp. agreed to provide a $273,000 grant to Cognizant. In return, the company is required to create up to 500 jobs at the new location by 2024. Cognizant subleased the space from CompuCom Systems, which had occupied the 92,250-square-foot building.

Cognizant opened its 50,000-square-foot Irving office at 5001 Statesman Dr. in summer 2018 as a regional technology center.
