City Base Commons on Tap to Open by Summer

Construction on the 50,000-square-foot City Base Commons has been underway, with the retail center scheduled to open in summer 2019. The project is being built on nine acres on Southeast Military Drive in southern San Antonio’s Brooks mixed-use development.

GFR Development Services is developing City Base Commons, which is 80% pre-leased. Tenants include McAllister’s Deli, Jimmy Johns, Raising Cane’s, HuHot Mongolian Grill, Tia’s Taco Hut, Deco Pizzeria, Smoothie King, Mr. C’s Fried Chicken and Waffles, Laundry Rey’s Wash ‘N Fold, Rio Nail Salon and Medusa Hair Salon.

“We are thrilled to be bringing another new development to the Brooks area,” said Adam Schiller, with GFR. “We have a great mix of tenants already committed, with more to be announced as we get closer to opening. We’ve also reserved two pad sites within this development for future tenants, which will allow for City Base Commons to continue to grow with demand.”
