City Approves Site Plan for $1B NY Development

The city of Glen Cove, NY signed off on a site plan for the first phase of Garvies Point, a $1 billion, mixed-use development. Developer RXR Realty has selected Pizzarotti-IBC of Manhattan as its general contractor.

The first phase of the Long Island development will offer residential buildings of four, five, and six- stories on the eastern edge of the property. Also planned is approximately 25,000 square feet of retail. Garvies Point will eventually consist of 555 rental units, 555 for-sale condos, approximately 75,000 square feet of retail and office space, and 28 acres of waterfront parks.

RXR will launch construction in the next few weeks. Two lawsuits that tried to halt the project were dismissed.
