Citi Impact Fund Makes First Four Investments
Following the launch of the Citi Impact Fund, Citi has made its first four investments in “double bottom line” companies through the new fund. The companies are Fulcrum BioEnergy, ICON, PadSplit and The Mom Project.
Launched earlier this year, the $150-million Citi Impact Fund is reportedly the largest fund of its kind to be launched by a bank using its own capital. The fund is focused on companies that are addressing five societal challenges: workforce development, financial capability, physical & social infrastructure, sustainability, and access to capital & economic opportunity.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is requiring us to rethink how we work,” said Citi’s Ed Skyler. “These companies have created distinct approaches for what’s possible as we address some of the biggest challenges we face today, such as creating affordable housing, reducing carbon emissions and bringing top female talent back to the workplace.”
