Cisneros Moving Headquarters to West Side Redevelopment

Former San Antonio Mayor Henry Cisneros and partner Victor Miramontes are moving their investment and development firm, Cisneros-Miramontes, from downtown to the Munguia Building on the city’s West Side, the San Antonio Business Journal reported. The property once housed a print shop founded by Cisneros’ maternal grandfather.

The Munguia Building, which has undergone extensive renovations, will be rebranded as The Shop. Cisneros-Miramontes will move from Soledad Street into its first floor. The second floor will be home to the new George and Elvira Cisneros Research Library.

The move is part of a larger commitment to spur additional redevelopment along the Commerce-Buena Vista corridor.

“San Antonio’s downtown has made steady progress, and we see that positive impact in the form of strong development to the south, east and north,” Cisneros said. “The West Side has lagged, though, and deserves attention, investment and increased employment.”
