Cinergy Planning Second El Paso Complex
Cinergy Entertainment Group, in partnership with El Paso developer Jose Gonzalez, who operates West Retail, are planning to put a second entertainment center in El Paso, at the 240-acre Plaza del Rey Shopping Center in East El Paso. The site, at Interstate 10 and Americas Avenue, is currently farmland owned by Ben L. Ivey Ltd., an Ivey family partnership. Gonzalez and Ivey are joint partners on the proposed Plaza del Rey development.
Cinergy, headquartered in Dallas, already announced its intentions to build a 90,000-square-foot complex on El Paso’s west side, at the proposed Franklin Galleria shopping center, which Gonzalez also plans to develop, at Interstate 10 and Trans Mountain Road. West Retail will develop both complexes, which Cinergy would then lease, upon completion.
The east side complex is anticipated to open in summer 2018, while the west side complex is scheduled for a May, 2018 opening.
