CIM Proposes West Hollywood’s Tallest Tower
CIM Group is proposing a 34-story apartment tower on the site of the old Cemex Hollywood Concrete Plant, Urbanize Los Angeles reported. If approved, the project would be West Hollywood’s tallest building.
Known as 1000 La Brea, the proposed development calls for clearing the Cemex site, which CIM acquired last year, making way for a tower with 514 apartments on its upper floors. About 25% would be designated as affordable housing.
At street level, the proposed apartment complex would include approximately 30,000 square feet of commercial space, dedicated to a grocery store.
Urbanize LA reported that the project will be the subject of public meetings in conjunction with its environmental review process starting this summer, with hearings before the West Hollywood Planning Commission and City Council expected in the first half of 2024. A community meeting earlier this month provided the first glimpse of CIM’s plans.
