CIM Goes Bigger in Oakland
Los Angeles-based CIM Group is increasing the size of a proposed office tower in Oakland, CA. The project could be as much as four times larger than the 200,000-square-foot mid-rise building it was previously planning.
CIM could push the size upwards of 800,000 square feet, or roughly 27 stories, which would make it one of the largest office buildings in the city. The site at 338 21st St. is adjacent to Two Kaiser Plaza, which CIM Group owns.
There are no office projects currently under construction in Oakland, though numerous residential projects are underway. The last large ground-up office building completed in Oakland was 2100 Franklin St. in 2008.
Colliers International’s Ken Meyersieck is handling the leasing for the project.
